Before World War I began, the United States was in recession. During the war, the United States became involved, and its economy thrived on trade with Europeans producing war goods, and maintaining a neutral status that strengthened their economy. The U.S. entered the war three years later as a result of instigation from the Central Powers, threats to trade with their allies, and a sense of separation in the United States as of whether to be involved in the war. The War Advertising Council was formed and held more than 100 campaigns to sell war bonds, donate blood, conserve food, and enroll enlisters. Involvement in World War II and social programs during the presidencies of Franklin Roosevelt and Truman caused a sixteenfold increase in the total war debt, amounting from $16 billion in 1930 to $260 billion in 1950. In conclusion, we can see the effect that money supply and war have on the United States national debt. It has caused dramatic decline and exponential growth in the economy during and following wartime. We have seen the effects of inflation and the outcome of the many battles from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War to our great World Wars. The national debt is a concern not only to the government, but also to its citizens. When the government debts increase, they use taxpayers money to handle the increasing costs in the economy. Some consequences are higher individual taxes, reduced benefits and programs, higher interest rates, and a weak dollar, which ultimately reduces the individual purchasing power and increases inflation.

The Glaciers of Yosemite National Park One of nature's most powerful and influential forces is also one of nature's coldest and slowest processes. These great icy rivers are called glaciers and have formed some of the most beautiful scenery on this planet. These enormous frozen bodies of water are often thousands of feet wide and deep and many miles long. They cover millions of acres of land and drastically change the land into beautiful mountains with many amazing features. One of the areas where glaciers have been most influential is in Yosemite National Park in California. Here almost every glacial feature is shown. However, before this information about glaciers in Yosemite was clear, there was the Yosemite Controversy with arguments of different views of how the valley originated. My Personal Philosophy of Early Childhood Education

Belief Statement The home and the early childhood education center happen to be the most important places for the socialization of the child.   As a matter fact, both the home and the early childhood education center are responsible for developing the child – a complete individual.   The child represents the future of my nation and the world at large.   What I want children to be is therefore identical to my vision of an ideal society.   As an early childhood educator, I want to provide the best possible education for my students so they would create the ideal society we all have collectively envisioned. Philosophical Statement All students are capable of learning.   Even so, every child is an individual with learning needs that differ from the needs of his or her peers.   As an early childhood educator it is important to me to teach children with respect to their developmental stage.   At the same time, however, I do not overlook the fact that some of my students could be slower than the rest, while a few may even be gifted.   Nonetheless I would like all my students to get to love learning as much as I do.   For this reason I believe that educators must continue to conduct research on the art and science of teaching, and develop themselves so as to help their students learn as effectively as possible. I further believe that hands-on learning in early childhood education centers is crucial to the development of children.   Human beings learn by doing.   All the same, certain children seem to need more time to reflect on the activities that are assigned in the classroom.   I do not discourage individuality in the classroom, even as I realize that hands-on activities help most students with their social and linguistic skills. In my classroom there are 28 students and the room is not big enough to accommodate center areas.   However, we have made adjustments.   Centers are done at their tables.   Every day, each table does a new center.   (I create 5 per week).   I also have other activities for my students, such as white boards, phonics puzzles, ABC's on cookie sheets, and activities that are exclusively available in dishpans that we refer to as buckets.   When students are done with assigned activities, they get a bucket and find a spot on the floor.   It seems to be working well, as they are learning. I additionally trust the fact that young students need to learn by watching.   I model for my students before we can practice together, after which they complete the activities on their own.   It amazes me how quickly most children are able to learn by watching.   Moreover, it empowers me as an early childhood educator seeing as I am able to influence their thinking in profound ways.   This is the very reason why ethics play a vital role in early childhood education.   Indeed, the early childhood educator must be careful to teach the young only that which he or she would like to experience in the outside world. Raw minds of little children must be nurtured with great gentleness and care.   I consider this a significant issue to discuss with the parents of my students.   After all, early childhood education cannot be complete without the environment that the child is exposed to outside the classroom.   Thus, I am confident that the advice and support of parents helps to make early childhood education more effective.

Racism is very much alive in modern day America. Although African Americans are no longer enslaved or segregated, after reading this book I do believe that they definitely have a harder time than a white person does in society. In Michell Alexander’s book, â€Å"The New Jim Crow Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness† she touches on the many injustices that African Americans face in everyday life. While she makes good points throughout the book, there are some things that I did not completely agree with. Michelle’s book was published about fifty-five years after the Jim Crow laws were abolished. The Jim Crow laws segregated blacks and whites and were enforced by the state and towns. While I agree that there are higher levels of poverty, crime and imprisonment for people of color, I do not believe that society using the legal system to deny rights is the only cause. Yes, stereotyping does exist in this country but there is a reason for that. Not saying that it is right, or justified but a lot of the time people do end up fitting a certain stereotype. Whether is be the way that person was raised, or how they believe that they should act based on what they think people will think of them anyway are also important factors to think about. If someone grows up in a society where bad things are happening around them and with the people they interact with, it is easy to conform into the same way of life. It becomes a cycle and it continues throughout the future generations. It is not completely impossible for someone to break that cycle, and this is where I think she makes a good point. All my teachers, every single one of them has played an important role in bringing me where I am today. Always ready to help, academics or otherwise, you are an integral part of me and I thank you for being there when I needed you. This big blue building means more to me than words can express . It saddens me now that I realize I will never be coming back here again. As much as it kills me to say this, Today is the day, today is the day we venture into the world. In my hours of contemplation during break times, I realised that the children enjoy spending half of their days here. Even support staff seem to love to do their jobs, which is one of the reasons why some of them have been working here for almost as long as I’ve lived. In this rather brief association with VPMS,I have learned many invaluable lessons, for which I am indebted to it. Today. on the threshold of life, before we all part ways, I would like to thank all of you. My teachers, for all the knowledge and guidance you have given me ,my dear friends and all the kids studying in junior classes for being constant reminders of an optimistic and happy life . Thank You Rheeya Uppaal-XII A Good Evening, Honorable Principal Ma’am,, Respected Teachers and my dear friends, Today, as I stand here and speak, I recollect the day the FIITJEE batch joined this prestigious school two years ago. We all came from different schools and boards, with mixed feelings. Some of joy, some of intrigue and some of apprehension of how this school would accept us and what was in store for us to this day. Today when I ponder, I wonder where those two years went.. They simply fleeted by happily on the sands of time and have ushered us to this day. For the second time in our lives , we face the enormous task of bidding adieu to our friends, our teachers, our peers and a part of our lives. Today , another chapter of our lives ends with advent of a shining new one beckoning us! It is ,undeniably difficult to say to goodbye to what better way to do it than celebrate? Celebrate the fact that we, entering these walls as saplings and having been nurtured and cared for by our dear teachers, can now call ourselves young trees, ready to face the world and whatever comes with it. I take this opportunity to thank all our teachers and the administrative staff of this wonderful school for the guidance, love and care bestowed on us over these years. It has been a matter of pride to belong to this institution and we look forward to an unending association with the staff and school. We shall not be dismayed at goodbyes because a farewell is necessary before we can meet again in life. I would like to close with a quote of Winston Churchill says,† This is not the end, his not even the beginning of the end, It is instead the end of the beginning. Thank You cheers to a new beginning ! Aseem Raina Give me some sunshine, give me some rain, give me another chance ,I wanna grow up once again. So now this is it-the end of 12 blissful years of school life . Looking back at all these years that I have spent as a student, I can’t help being overcome with a feeling of nostalgia and emotion. I realise that today I depart with mixed emotions. Joyous, that I am prepared to deal with life’s challenges yet disappointed that I have to leave school in order to move on in life. School has taught me a lot many things. The disciplinary rules never really allowed me to get carried away. The schedule helped me to stay focused on my priorities in life. Here I would know that the manners and character that we inculcate now remains with us in life. They moulded me into a better person and their incessant and timely guidance helped me tackle the academic pressures. Not to forget my friends, I would like to mention here that this is the first time in 12 yrs where I have known more or less my whole class well enough. I have made some really good friends here and may have all helped me when I needed their support, corrected me when I was wrong and praised me when I deserved it. And I really value that. I would like to conclude with this thought-many say that memories are life footprints in the sand, they are washed away with the tides of time. but here I say confidently that these will remain etched in my heart forever.
